Paul Jacobs (August 24, 1918-January 3, 1978) attended the College of the City of New York and the University of Minnesota. Jacobs spent many years in the labor movement as a representative of such unions as the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union and the Oil Workers International Union. He was written articles on labor problems and related subjects. He served on the board of directors of the Southern California branch of the American Civil Liberties Union and was a member of the NAACP. He ran as a Peace and Freedom Party candidate for the U.S. Senate in 1968.
